Introduction
eme3 was created in 1999 by the cultural association ADN as a “market” of avant garde architecture. Its structure is based on traditional markets, giving visitors the opportunity to explore a diverse range of proposals and ideas, and allowing an open field for interaction and interpretation. Thanks to its formula it was, and still is, a unique concept in the world.
What´s eme3?
A “market” of architecture with installations, urban projects, workshops, conferences, debates, music and cinema.
eme3 offers artists a space, interactive as well as physical, in which to express their ideas. It offers to the visitor the possibility of discovering the latest developments in architecture, as well as the chance to debate and reflect together with some of the best known architects in the international scene.
Who comes to eme3?
eme3 is oriented to professionals and students of architecture and design, as well as all people with an interest or involvement in the world of art and creativity.
Goal of eme3
eme3 is about bringing together the new practitioners of the latest developments in architecture within a space of experimentation, exhibition and debate.
Its goal is to think about current issues from an architectural point of view. It attempts to find solutions to specific problems.
Prior manifestations
Space, Density, Time and Collapse were the subjects of prior manifestations of eme3. In the first one the festival had an exhibition room of 450 m2 for the “market”, and an auditorium with capacity for 300 people, where debates took place and cinema/documentary films were shown. From the second manifestation on, in 2001, eme3 became bigger not only in terms of exhibition space but also in its ambition and scope for other areas beyond the “market”.
